Microneedling Aftercare
We’re excited to be a part of your microneedling journey! To ensure optimal results and promote healing, please follow these detailed aftercare instructions.
Immediate Post-Treatment Care (First 24 Hours)
Keep the Area Clean:
Gently cleanse the treated area with a mild, non-irritating cleanser. Avoid scrubbing or using any exfoliating products for the first 24 hours.
Avoid Makeup:
Refrain from applying makeup for at least 24 hours to allow your skin to heal properly and reduce the risk of irritation.
Ice Packs:
If you experience swelling or redness, apply a cool compress or ice pack wrapped in a cloth for 10-15 minutes at a time to soothe the skin.
No Heat:
Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and intense workouts for the first 24 hours. Heat can exacerbate redness and irritation.
Hydration:
Drink plenty of water to help support your skin’s healing process.
Next Few Days (Days 2-7)
Moisturize:
Apply a gentle, hydrating moisturizer regularly to keep the skin hydrated. Look for products that are fragrance-free and specifically formulated for sensitive skin.
Sun Protection:
Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 daily. Avoid direct sun exposure, and wear a wide-brimmed hat if you need to be outdoors.
Avoid Active Ingredients:
For at least one week, avoid products containing retinoids, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, or any harsh exfoliants to prevent irritation.
No Picking or Scratching:
Do not pick at scabs or peeling skin, as this can lead to scarring or infection.
Gentle Skincare Routine:
Stick to a gentle skincare regimen. Use only non-comedogenic products for at least a week post-treatment.
Long-Term Care (Weeks 2-4)
Follow-Up Treatments:
Schedule any recommended follow-up sessions. Depending on your skin’s condition and goals, multiple sessions may be advised for optimal results.
Healthy Lifestyle:
Maintain a balanced diet rich in vitamins and antioxidants. Adequate hydration and sleep are also vital for skin recovery.
Patience with Results:
While you may notice some immediate improvements, the full effects of microneedling typically develop over several weeks as collagen production increases.
