Wrinkle Relaxer Aftercare
Botox/Dysport/Jeuveau will start to work in 2-7 days and peak in about 2 weeks. Please note, if additional product is needed, it will not be injected until 14 days after your initial injection.
Do not lie down for 4 hours post injection.
Do not massage the treatment area.
Do not do strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours following your injection.
Visible bumps may be seen at the injection sites. These are normal and may last up to a few hours.
Do not get a massage, do microdermabrasion or any other activity that may elevate your core body temperature.
If forehead was treated, do not wear hat or headband for at least 4 hours.
You may cleanse your face normally this evening but please do not massage the injected area. Also, do not use any abrasive exfoliants or scrubs.
Bruising may be seen. This happens in a small percentage of treatments but will not affect your treatment results. There also may be some discomfort associated with it. Bruising should resolve within one week.
Cosmetics, moisturizers, lotions may be used after 4 hours, but do not apply extreme pressure or do anything that may cause discomfort.
Exercising the muscles in the treated area may help the product get into the muscle faster but has no effect on the overall efficacy of the treatment.
Headache may be a possible side effect. Take Motrin or Tylenol for your headache should it occur.
Sensitive or blurry vision is possible for 2-3 days post treatment. Wear sunglasses and moisturize eyes with eye drops if needed.
Flu-like symptoms are rare but may last 2-3 days. Fluids, rest and Tylenol/Motrin may be used.

How to prepare for your treatment:
This treatment requires relatively little preparation. However, it is preferred to avoid blood thinning medications and fluids, such as caffeine or alcohol, if possible. While not at all required, consumption of these can increase the risk of bruising. The injections itself are relatively quick and painless. If you desire, you may take Tylenol prior to your appointment. Please avoid Ibuprofen, Advil, or Aspirin as these can increase your skin of bruising. Please note that you will not be able to get an eyebrow wax, microblading, facials, microdermabrasion, etc for 7 days following your appointment so please schedule accordingly. We do not inject pregnant or breastfeeding mothers.
What to expect at your appointment:
Your provider will greet you and take before pictures so we can track your progress together. So exciting! We then will do a thorough assessment and discuss what brings you in and what your goals are. We will discuss the benefits, what to expect, and potential side effects. We will then cleanse your skin and get to the fun stuff- the injections! Here at Sol Skin and Wellness, our goal is to make you as educated and comfortable as possible. The initial appointment will be around 45 minutes and your following appointments will be 20-30 minutes!
When will you see results:
Wrinkle Relaxers start to work at around day 4-7 with full, optimal results at day 14. You will not want to receive injections right before a big event. Ideally you will receive treatment 3-4 weeks prior to the event or holiday!
